Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk at South Pond.
This is by far the most popular location among our couples. No matter the season this location is always a winner. Located just north of downtown by Lincoln Park Zoo it features some iconic Chicago views and architecture. Absolutely breathtaking in summer and spectacular in fall features lot of nature to include in your engagement photos. One of the most popular and sought after structure – ‘The Honeycomb’ is also located here. This location is super popular among families and tourists too, so expect a crowd around you when you choose this spot for your engagement session or wedding day portraits.
North Avenue Beach.
This popular beach is located within walking distance from Lincoln Park Boardwalk. It features one of the best views of northern Chicago skyline. The combination of sand, beach vegetation and skyscrapers creates a unique backdrop for your photos you will not get anywhere else. Because it is so close to Lincoln Park our couples often choose to shoot their engagement photos in Chicago at both of those locations and use one to dress up and other for more casual vibe.
Milton Olive Park at Navy Pier.
This secluded location brings you close to the North part of downtown, so close you feel like you can touch the city across the water! The park is popular among locals (and photographers) but not overcrowded at all! The view of the skyline at sunset and boats parked on the water rocking with waves… There is also a small beach where you can touch the lake and relax. It is also great photo location for walking along the lake with your shoes in hand.
Adler Planetarium and Field Museum.
Adler Planetarium offers by far the best view of the city skyline period. That’s why there is always a lot of people taking advantage of this opportunity. Don’t worry, you will get your piece of the view if you choose to have your session there. The area features iconic backdrop day and night, so there is always a good time to visit. North side of Field Museum offers elegant locations with some iconic Chicago architecture, greenery and city view comes as a bonus! That part of the city is not as crowded as the planetarium and just perfect for dressing up and enjoying a glass of champagne.
Chicago Riverwalk & Wrigley Building.
We all love to admire the view of the city skyline but Chicago is so much more than just that. Newly remodeled Riverwalk is one of the most popular location for engagement session in Chicago. Pretty during the day it really comes to live at sunset and after dark. With city lights all over you and not too many people around you will love how intimate and spectacular this part of the city can be. River, iconic Chicago bridges, boats and skyscrapers… Can you imagine a better night time backdrop? Iconic Wrigley Building is also one of the top spots to admire city’s architecture, combine the two and you have perfect city engagement session.
Millennium Park is located in the hearth of the city. Most famous for it’s iconic silver ‘Bean’. You don’t want to shoot your session there, OK, maybe a quick picture for your memories but that park has so much more to offer! Hidden areas with unique architecture, art, skyline and most importantly – beautiful gardens! Depending on the season it’s full of blooming flowers or colorful fall leaves. If that’s not enough for you there is a bridge to Art Institute, bridge across Columbus Dr. and outdoor theater. All of those offer spectacular views of the city and one-of-a-kind architecture.
Cantigny Park in Wheaton, IL.
We saved this location for last as this is a true gem among best engagement session locations in Chicago. Located about 45 minutes from the city in western suburbs of Wheaton, IL is the Cantigny Park. Cantigny Park is the 500-acre former estate of Colonel Robert R. McCormick, the longtime editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune. It features some beautiful flower arrangements, gardens, immaculate grounds, historic mansion and so much more. It is a wonderful place to spend the whole day away from the city noise and do your romantic e-session too.
